This is my second pair and I love them. The first pair lasted 4 river seasons in Texas. They are light, full support, protect toe, and drain quickly. These were exactly what I was looking for. I was excited to get them and try them out!! I was ready to order more even though they are a little pricey. I had them for 12 days and hadn’t worn them every day or for hours on end the days I did wear them (I don’t wear shoes in the house) and they started to smell terribly. My feet do not sweat extensively so I don’t know why they were so bad. I had to wash them twice before I got enough of the smell out to wear them again. I’m afraid I’ll have to wash them every other time I wear them and that in itself causes undue wear and tear. I really want to give them a 5 star rating. They would be my go to shoe for everything from boating to walking around!! They fit great and are exactly the look and style I’ve been looking for for a long time. I’m sad that I may just be wasting my money if I buy more although I can’t look past the smelly shoes. I’m going to try vinegar on them and even try freezing them. Don’t know if I’ll buy again or not!!I used these in the Galápagos Islands for 2 weeks. I used them to casually walk on the lava rocks, sand, and trails. Nothing difficult. And each excursion was an hour or two. I left them behind to be trashed when I left. The sole was separating in several places on both shoes and the tips of the shoes showed excessive wear. They were light and comfortable.Confortable and secure in water. Using for work getting kids in kayaks all day.Can use land based as well.I so wanted to love this shoe. As an avid whitewater rafter, I read tons of online publications who recommended it for its grippy sole and good drainage.Imagine my disappointment when I encountered that the shoe is simply unwearable - shoddy stitching with far-too-rough thread creates extremely painful friction points at the bottom of the tongue. It's a water shoe and meant to be worn without socks - no doubt the skin on my feet would have been raw and blistered in no time.I cannot fathom how Astral thought it was ok to create something so sub-standard and charge top dollar for it. It's a pity when excellence in design so poorly aligns with production execution. (I've had the same experience with their Layla PFD - a crudely stitched attachment point at the front of the vest created a painful friction point.)Item has been returned. And I wished I would have actually listened to the other reviewers here who have complained of the same exact issue - instead of the likely sponsored reviews in the various publications.Stitching under the tongue is really, really rough and irritating. If you plan to wear without socks, it will cause abrasion to top of foot. . Had to return them for my purposes. But super cute and comfy fit otherwise! Bummed! These shoes are great. I wore them all day white water rafting with no blisters or rubbing. I even fell out when our raft almost capsized and they stayed securely on my feet as I floated down the river. They protected my feet from the rocks in the river until I could be rescued by another boat. The good: Super grippy soles. The bad: The inside seams are very rough and would chew up my feet if I wore these for even a little while. Since they are water shoes and meant to be worn without socks, there is no way to make this right. I am returning.Fit my feet well to wear just with socks (SUP) but also have wide toe fit so I can still wear a drysuit socks in there (whitewater kayaking). I've always had to have two different size shoes in the fast for these two activities so I can finally combine these in one shoe. Good grip and drain really well and super light weight. Very impressed with these and on top of all this they actually look good!
