"Rock You to Hell" is a wonderful example of 80s hard rock with a bit of an edge. Mostly it is just good fun. The "Explicit" tag is misapplied; one song is a bit naughty, and the title track uses the word "hell". If you ever banged your head while clad in leather, denim, and spikes, then this Grim Reaper album will bring back memories. The Good: Solid drumming, solid (if simple) bass, catchy riffs, powerful screaming vocals. Good production. Some lyrics appeal to the headbanger rebel by hinting at censorship and the abuse of power. I bought the MP3 version of this album, and it is clean and loud. The Bad: Some of the song titles and lyrics exude a bit of 80s cheese and/or sleaze: "Suck It and See"? "Waysted Love"? "Rock me/rock you/It's all we have to do"? My least favorite track ("Lust for Freedom") almost becomes a decent song, but it seems overly long at 4:26.Overall: The good points far outweigh the bad. Preview the songs for a taste of a great 80s album that offers more than nostalgia.
