I use my boat on the Potomac, and often anchor while fishing at night. I was concerned that leaving the stern light on would drain the battery. I placed it in my stern light housing to confirm that it works, and was happy to see that it is slightly brighter/whiter than the original incandescent. This LED draws 1 watt (written on back of packaging), and the incandescent drew 12 watts. I consider this an inexpensive upgrade, and a good bang for the buck compared to getting a new LED stern light. The packaging was good enough that I was able to place the old one in it for use as a spare. Without a long term reliability test I can only give it 4 stars. So I have this old, and I mean old, 110v Craftsman router that uses a 12v 1156 bulb. The monofilament automotive bulbs were constantly burning out from the vibration shaking the filament loose. I gave this LED bulb a try and other than having to do a little grinding to get it to fit down in the socket, it works just fine. Really brightens things up underneath the router and no more burned out/broken bulbs. I suspect I had to modify it because what the other reviewers have said is correct, it's not a true 1156 replacement. So far, so good. Used this to replace a Seachoice model 09901 in my pontoon navigation light, and it works like a charm. There was nothing wrong with my old bulb, I just wanted something to reduce the draw on my battery. The bulb is slightly taller than the 09901 bulb, but the double contact bayonet fit perfectly! I have a tall lens cover on my nav light, so no worries with it fitting under the cover. Initially I thought I was going to have to replace my whole light in order to get LED technology, but this is a much cheaper alternative for me, although it is pricey for a bulb. I am hoping to get a long life out of it, if I can keep the socket dry.The first bulb that I got worked great for about a week before it fitzed out. Seller sent me replacement at no cost and it's been working perfectly since then, so probably just a manufacturing defect. This is a crazy-bright light, and it really makes my bow light stand out. One word of caution is that the bulb housing is very slightly larger than a standard bulb, so if your tolerances are tight it may not fit. But we're only talking about a couple 10ths of an inch.Quick and easy replacement. No longer have to change the incadescent bulbs every 6 months. LED all the way!Shoreline Marine sent me cheaper larger bulb that doesn’t fit housing.Although slightly more expensive than other multipacks of bulbs, these are a great and perfect 1004 bulb replacement. First, they do have the glass dome to protect the LEDs. Second, they are almost exactly as tall as the standard 1004 bulb, (some I bought in Multipacks were so tall they wouldn't allow the cover to go back on after installation). Thirdly, they are bright and for me, the right 3000k color temperature. I used them to replace my current bulbs in the navigation lights on my boat. They seemed to be 2x's as visibly bright as the incandescent bulbs.I bought these to replace my friend's filament navigation lights. Due to the rough seas and impact on the hull, he was constantly replacing the nav lights. The old filament bulbs can't take the pounding. We run in the saltwater which has a higher than usual salt concentration so I also applied some dielectric grease to each bulb. After running the boat hard during sailing week and a weekend fishing tournament, the bulbs are still working. The intensity is just right in my opinion and can be easily seen by other vessels on the water without blinding the driver. The light I received was a traditional bulb style, not the more compact style with the LEDs mainly at the top.It is also longer than the dimensions shown in the technical details. My original ll90 bulb was 1.25 inches long, the replacement bulb is 1.625 inches long. As such, this will not fit my boat's rear navigation night and I will be returning it.Esta luz fue para remplazar mi stern light bulb, y realmente es muy brillante, el principal motivo de remplazo es el consumo de batería en la lancha por la noche, ya que al ser una luz que se mantiene prendida realmente ya no consume casi nada de amperes, reitero muy brillante y bajo consumo, vale la pena!I did not get the bulb in the as listed instead I got a conventional size led bulb and its to big for my aplicationQuick Shipping. Product as described. Nice light for the head on our boat, and very low power consumption.Great product
